It can be used to fill or pack the dead space in a wound. A secondary dressing is required to hold the alginate in place and protect the wound from contaminants. The dressing has an optimal gelling profile that prevents sticking to the wound bed and allows for easy removal in one piece. It is highly absorptive and non-occlusive, and can be trimmed to fit wound dimensions.
